HISTORY

Hello, I'm Aida Rigual. A few years ago I started this project in Barcelona, under the name Inirt Atelier by Aida. Inirt was the reverse name of my grandmother Trini (Trini <> Inirt) and her rocking chair was the brand logo. I created it in a moment of mourning for her loss and I wanted to pay tribute to her, because she was the one who taught me how to sew and because she was a very important person in my life. Until one day I felt like I needed to let go and let go. Take a step forward. So I played with the last letters of my last name, Rigual, and Alú emerged, and from there ALÚ ALÚ, because there are two of us on board this ship: my mother and me.

My mother was dedicated from day one to supporting my dream, participating every step of the way, contributing her experience and effort. Their hands are the ones that give that perfect stitch, the one that makes the difference. Their involvement has grown with the evolution of the brand and has gone from helping to being a part.

SEA, MY INSPIRATION

I have always felt that special connection with the sea, my grandfather was a fisherman and my grandmother mended the fishing nets on her boat.

My childhood in the port with my grandparents immersed me in an underwater world full of fantasy and color, where anything was possible.

Where live species as captivating as nudibranchs, marine creatures that are my source of inspiration, due to their impressive shapes and colors.

FROM THE SEA TO THE CATWALK

Studying a university degree in Marine Sciences and Technologies has led me to discover that in the underwater world not everything is fantasy.

Every year thousands of tons of fishing nets are thrown into the sea, generating one of the greatest ocean damages, since their degradation process is very slow and causes many species of marine fauna to become dangerously trapped.

Our small grain of sand consists of recovering discarded fishing nets, those that fishermen no longer use.

This is how the
Siracusa Collection was born, from the Sea to the Catwalk.

COLLECTIONS

Our collections are not the classic seasonal ones.

We prefer to create timeless and continuous pieces, in which haute couture fabrics take center stage, which are pure fantasy.

We work with thematic collections: fringes, paillettes, embroidery, chiffon, fishing nets, etc. and we adapt them to the color trends of the moment.

CRUELTY FREE BRAND

We work with cruelty free fabrics and accessories; we do not use skin or animal leather.

We love noble materials, such as natural bamboo, from which the handles we use for some designs are made.

The chains we use are made of aluminum, nickel-free, light and at the same time resistant.

ARTISAN PROCESS

Our designs are made with a combination of layers of different technical fabrics, such as 3D neoprene, which provides structure from the inside and allows us to create unique pieces.

Instead of using rivets that would simplify assembly, we prefer to stay true to the artisanal sewing process. It is a much slower and more laborious process, which guarantees a better finish.

Our magnet closure is hand sewn and the rings to crimp the chains and straps are also hand sewn.

SUSTAINABLE BRAND

In addition to our ethical and responsible production, we are committed to actions that provide added value to our commitment to sustainability.

All our designs incorporate inside, a small wallet with a zipper closure, made with the plastic of recycled bottles (RPET), to store those small objects that we prefer to carry in a completely closed space, which provides us with more security.

To keep the bag safe from scratches, whether in a closet or in a suitcase when traveling, we suggest storing it in our protective recycled cotton cover, made by a national company, which acquires its materials from local suppliers, thus reducing the footprint of carbon and that carries out its production through ecological processes that reduce the environmental impact.
